John Dobson, age 93, passed away on August 31, 2021. He was born on June 1, 1928, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late John Dobson Sr. and Lula Edmondson Dodson. John served in the US Army and was the proud owner of John Dobson Plastering and Repair. He served as an usher and Deacon at Good Shepherd Baptist Church and very much enjoyed spending his time fishing until his health failed. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Mary Dobson, and his son, Curtis Dobson. He is survived by his children, Sylvia (George) Brown and Wayne Dobson; grandchildren, Ronald Brown (Theresa Wilkerson), Ebony (Henry) Shipp, Erika Brown; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Dionna, Dasha, S'nevaeh, Jamarcus, NaShayla, Carter; great-great grandchild, Amyiah; Aunt Martha Edmondson; and nephew, William D. (Liltensie) Corlew, III. John's family will receive friends on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 11am-12pm at Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229, where a Homegoing Service will take place at 12noon, Pastor Charles Tatum officiating.
