John H. "Jack" Immel, Sr., 96, of Greensburg, died Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was born July 13, 1926, in Greensburg, a son of the late William W. and Viola Wible Immel. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the Navy. Jack was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Greensburg Lodge 225 F&AM, and was a former Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 407. Prior to retirement, he was owner/operator of the former Goulding and Immel Auto Service in Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine Errett Immel; his second wife, Nancy Scott Immel; six brothers: James, Walter, Ralph, Leslie, Donald, and Roy Immel; and three sisters: Doris Immel, Anna Strelec, and Dolores Immel. He is survived by three sons: John H. Immel, Jr., of Marguerite, Craig W. Immel, of Greensburg, and Bruce F. Immel, of Debary, Fla.; two daughters: Sherry (Terry) O'Halloran, of Greensburg, and Judith Wentzel, of Youngwood; five grandchildren, Bree (Chris) Stemple, Justin (Jodi) Vestrand, Jason Vestrand, Caitlyn Ryan, and Lauren Immel; four great-grandchildren: Briarly, Wyatt, Jackson, and Lorelei; two brothers: Richard Immel, of Greensburg, and Luther “Luke” Immel, of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation or service. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family wishes to thank everyone at Mountainview Memory Care and Bridges Hospice for their compassionate care.
