John J. Paul

John J. Paul, age 98, of Pickerington, Ohio passed away On September 11, 2026.

John was born and raised in the South End of Columbus, where his Hungarian heritage provided him with a strong sense of family, tradition, and community.

He proudly served his country in U.S. Army Signal Corps. After his military service, John became a COTA bus driver where he left his mark by going above and beyond for his riders, often dropping them at their homes on the route instead of making them walk from the bus stop. He retired after more than 30 years.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Paul, their sons, Jimmy Paul and Johnny Paul: parents, John Paul and Louise (Chaney) Jordan and half-sister, Helen Zeppa.

He is survived by his children, Mike (Marie) Jones, Kathy (Art) Maynard, Steve (Brenda) Paul and daughter-in-law Dee Paul: grandchildren, Rachael (Matt Bolinger) Smith, Angie Kinsell, Sarah (Allen Davies, III) Paul, Laura (Ben) Cochran, Kaleigh (Tony) Lemaster, Zach (Sarah) Frazier, Brandon Paul, John Paul, Eric (Wendy) Paul, Ashley (Chris) Quesada, Tonya Rodgers, and Christina (Chris) Donahue: many great and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at GRAUMLICH FUNERAL HOME, 1351 South High Street, Columbus, Oho 43207. Following visitation, a procession will take place to Franklin Hills Memory Gardens in Canal Winchester for the graveside service with Fr. Michael Watson officiating. Military honors and burial to follow.
