John R. Jackson

John Jackson, age 85, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his home in Columbus, OH. John was born February 15, 1937 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Ray and Hermia Jackson. John proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Parts Department of Bobby Layman Chevrolet in 2018. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 144. He also enjoyed playing BINGO and watching the OSU Buckeyes play football. John is preceded in death by his sisters, Helen, Mary, and Shirley. John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marle Jackson; children, Brenda (Thomas) Stauffer, Scott (Shelly) Jackson, and Lori (Darryl) Hetterscheidt; grandchildren, Crystal , Ashley, Shanna, Scotti, Tyler, Matthew, Kathryn, and Paetton; great grand children, Luke and Arthur John; brothers, Ray Dennis, Jimmy, and Steve Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will be Monday, February 28, 2022 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME, 587 Main St. in Groveport, OH. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens in Canal Winchester, OH.
