John Slobodin
September 3, 1949 – September 4, 2026 (Age 77)
John Slobodin, 77, of Douglassville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at Manatawny Manor. He was the beloved husband of Trudy Lou (Paup) Slobodin, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, on September 3, 1949, John was the son of the late William Slobodin Sr. and Ann (Nestorick) Slobodin.
John was a 1967 graduate of Spring-Ford Area High School. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent many years as a machine operator with Dana Incorporated before retiring in 2008. Outside of work, John enjoyed bowling at Jay Lanes in Pottstown, a pastime that brought him many happy times over the years.
Above all, John cherished his family and the life they shared together.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Trudy; his children, Matthew Slobodin and Jennifer (Robert Maines) Slobodin; his granddaughters, Jocelyn and Jolie; and his brothers, Michael Slobodin and William Slobodin Jr.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of John’s life on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Keystone Fire Company, 240 N. Walnut St., Boyertown, PA 19512.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made in John’s memory to Shriners Children.
