Born in Pineville, North Carolina, Johnnie Mae was a daughter of the late Naaman Edwards Atkins and Mary Sadie Gordon Atkins. She was retired from Springs Industries where she was a supervisor in the cloth room at the White Plant. Johnnie Mae was a member of Community Presbyterian Church.
Johnnie Mae is survived by her sister Rebecca Brown of Moravian Falls, NC; and her children, Angel (Ronald), Billy, David (Melody), Mary (Michael), Bary“Gunk” (Lynn) and Samantha.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte.
