Johnny P. Clark Sr.
April 29, 1936 – May 6, 2026 (Age 90)
Johnny Preston Clark Sr., Age 90, of Charlotte, NC, went home to be with our Lord Jesus on May 6th following a lengthy illness. He was a loving husband and father who was married to Mary Thompson Clark for 71 years. He was a quiet and gentle man who devoted his time and attention to his family. Johnny was a master upholsterer, and custom furniture maker retired from Pennsylvania House furniture. When someone needed an antique sofa, or wooden furniture item restored, or repaired they contacted Johnny. Also, he loved to ride on historic trains, and enjoyed vacationing in Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge, TN.
Born on April 29, 1936, in Union, SC, he was the son of Oren Lee and Lula Bell Clark. Preceded in death by Brothers, Dewey Eugene Childers, David Raymond Clark, and Sister, Betty Lilly Cupp. Survived by children, Linda Dianne Beresnev, Johnny Preston Clark Jr. (Lori E. Clark), Ricky Brian Clark. Johnny was welcomed into heaven by his deceased daughter Carol Lee Clark.
His grandchildren are Ricky B. Clark Jr., Christopher Evan Clark, Matthew Graham Clark (Jhanvi Saraswat), Jeremy Michel Clark, Johanna Elizabeth Clark, and Emma Ellen Clark.
A graveside service will be held on Friday May 15th at 2:00 PM location is Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital.
