Joseph Arandas

Joseph R. Arandas, 94, of Greensburg, died Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born March 18, 1930, in Greensburg, a son of the late Joseph and Ann (Furin) Arandas. Prior to retirement, Joseph worked at Brown Boveri in South Greensburg, he started as a draftsman and worked his way up to management. He was a long-time member of St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church in South Greensburg. He was also a lifetime member of the Roosevelt Club of Hempfield Township where he served as treasurer and was also a member of the American Legion Post 981 in South Greensburg. Joe was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and survived a plane crash while in training at Langley Air Force base. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine L. (Yakubisin) Arandas; and his brother, Matthew Arandas. He is survived by his four children, Mary Kay Goodson (Harold) of Phoenix, AZ, Joseph J. Arandas (Linda) of Scottsdale, AZ, Michael D. Arandas (Kathryn) of Charlotte, NC, and Ann Radzik (Daniel) of Boise, ID; three grandchildren, Amber J. Arandas of Palm Bay, FL, Jesse Arandas of Scottsdale, AZ, and William E. Bierer of Phoenix, AZ; his sister, Alice Mathews of Southington, CT; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Thursday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Prayers will begin at 10:30 AM Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, South Greensburg. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post No. 981, South Greensburg.
