Joseph Dupal

Joe Dupal Jr., 73, of Kepple Hill in Vandergrift, met the Lord Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at Belair Nursing Home in Lower Burrell after 20 years of poor health. He graduated from Kiski Area High School in 1967. Joe retired in 2001 after 34 years with Allegheny Ludlum. Before health issues, he enjoyed boating, deer hunting, fishing and growing the largest tomatoes with seeds from his grandfather, Sam Lentino, that originated in Italy. Joe absolutely enjoyed his time with his best friend, Larry Linkes. Every week they would go to the Walmart to shop, buy lottery tickets and have a slice of pizza in the Freeport area. Joe was predeceased by his father and mother, Joe and Julia (Lentino) Dupal; grandparents, Sam and Angelina Lentino and John and Mary Dupal; his brother-in-law, James Williams, and nephew, Ryan Boylstein. Joe leaves behind his sister, Carol Heckman (Ron), of Springdale, and Phyllis Williams (Bob), of East Vandergrift; nephews, Jeff and Jim Heckman and Aaron Williams; great-nieces and -nephews, and stepmom, Judi Dupal; also three beautiful cats. The family wishes much gratitude to Larry, Kathy and Father Mike Sciberras during Joe's difficult times. A memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Final arrangements were made by THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 930 Center Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15238, Blawnox. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local animal shelter.
