Joseph "Jerry" G. Pavelka, age 82, of Manor Borough, passed peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1943 in Braddock, PA, the son of the late Lena (DeStefano) Pavelka Benson and Joseph Pavelka. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Elizabeth "Betty" A. Pavelka; four children, Dawn (Carmen) Porco of Plum Boro, Sheri (Jason) McNeice of Scottdale, Matthew (Samantha) Pavelka of Greensburg, and Liane (Michael) Palaschak of North Huntingdon; 7 grandchildren, Jordan Pavelka, Jacob (Taylor) McNeice, Lucas and Eliza Pavelka, Jaxson, Harper, and Lochlyn Palaschak; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Lydia McNeice; and 5 step-sisters. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his late wife, Donna (Plocido) Pavelka; and step-father, William Benson.

Jerry served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was a member and past commander of the Manor American Legion Post 472. He was employed for nearly 38 years at Mine Safety Appliances, where he retired in 2005. Jerry was actively involved in his church, New Life Presbyterian in Harrison City, serving as a deacon for many years. He had a strong faith that carried him through the many chapters of his life, and a heart that he poured into anyone who needed it. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Bridges Hospice, especially Jamie, Marion, Deanna, and Marty, for their immense support through this trying time. Their respect of Jerry's condition and faith could never be repaid.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, June 28 from 9 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM in New Life Presbyterian Church, 326 Raymaley Road, Harrison City, with military honors concluding the service. A lunch reception will be held immediately following in the church hall. Interment will be private in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be sent to the Deacon Fund at New Life Presbyterian Church.
