Joseph R Austeri

Joseph R. Austeri, 79, of Southwest Greensburg, died Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 11, 1941 in Greensburg, a son of the late John V. and Mary (Temporali) Austeri. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Clairton Works. He was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg. He was also a member of Youngwood Sportsman’s Club. Joe loved going to his granddaughter’s softball games. He was her number one fan. He also loved to share his passion of fishing with his grandson. He loved them both dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline F. (Hoover) Austeri; two brothers, Robert and Rudolph Austeri; his nephew, Robbie Austeri; and his brother-in-law, Richard Shaner. He is survived by his daughter, Julie M. Osikowicz (Jeffrey), of Greensburg; grandson, Jordan Osikowicz (Bethany Tewksbury); granddaughter, Jenna Osikowicz; two sisters, Helen Shaner, of Greensburg, and Teresa Austeri (Bob Heaps), of Delmont; two brothers, John Austeri (Becky), of Greensburg, and Thomas Austeri (Nikki), of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Jane Austeri, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Please be prepared to adhere to all current health guidelines, including face masks and social distancing.
