Joseph William Welling III

Joseph "Bill" William Welling III, 76 of Jeannette, passed away July 14, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.He was born March 21, 1948 in Greensburg, a son of the late Joseph W. Welling Jr. and Jean Anderson Welling.Joseph was a member of Ascension Church in Jeannette. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he worked as a Maintenance manager for the former Bell Telephone now Verizon. Joseph was a volunteer fireman for Hose Company 2 in Greensburg. Along with his late wife, they fostered 14 babies over the years through Catholic Charities. Friend of Bill W. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Weightman Welling.Surviving are his children, Joseph Welling, IV, Kelley Sandusky (Michael), Matthew Welling (Amy), and Kim Goleb; his life partner of ten years, Alycefaye Stewart; grandchildren, Joseph Welling V, Kalie Welling, Joshua Welling, Sean Cole, Jacob Cole, Isabel Sandusky, Zachary Sandusky, Dillon Sandusky, Aleaha Welling, Harper Welling, Nathan Goleb, Ryan Goleb, and Ethan Goleb; great grandson, William Sandusky and great granddaughter, Molly is expected soon; and siblings, Linda Gieger, Bob Welling, and Becky Welling.Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 1 to 4pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT Funeral Home 524 N. Main Street, Greensburg where services will be held at 4pm on Wednesday. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11am in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park, Greensburg with military honors provided by South Greensburg American Legion Post 981.
