Josephine Etters
March 12, 1931 - June 24, 2023 (Age 92)
Josephine 'Jo' Minicucci Etters, 92, formerly of Pitcairn and Trafford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24th at the Sylvia G. Thompson Nursing Home in Sedalia, MO. She was born in Pitcairn to the late Rocco and Theresa Marrone Minicucci who immigrated from Campobosso, Italy. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert Palonis, great grandson Lucas Palonis, sister Levia (the late Leo) Macerelli, and sister-in-law Mary Margaret Minicucci.
Josephine was a dedicated member of The Order of Eastern Star, Corinth Chapter No. 229 and volunteered at the Aspinwall Veteran's Hospital. She also enjoyed playing cards and Wii bowling her friends at the Monroeville Senior Citizens Center, swimming at the Wilmerding YMCA and bowling.
She is survived by her children Dr. Cathy (Brian) Parsells of Warrensburg, Missouri, Kelly Palonis (Dave Sevacko) of Imperial, Sharon (Michael) Maher of West Deer, Kimberly Miller (Eric Baustert) of North Huntingdon, and Bernard (Cheryl) Etters of Hampton; grandchildren, Nicholas (Marianne) Parsells and Alyssa (Jake) Asgian, Brittany (Jason) Bendik and Jared Palonis Kaitlyn and William Maher, Kevin (Elizabeth) and Jason Miller, Carson and Luke Etters, and Cory (Rachel) Sevacko; and great grandchildren Jameson and Chase Bendik, Brayden, Kane, and Michael Palonis, Norah Miller, Kennedy and Keaton Sevacko, and Brooke Johnson. She is also survived by her brother Tony Minicucci of Trafford and her sister Jennie (Richard) Baumgartner of Alabama, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and Friends will be received Saturday, August 5, 2023, beginning at 11 am, at the Center Avenue United Methodist Church, TriUnity Building, 614 Sixth Street, Pitcairn, PA 15140. An Eastern Star Funeral Service will be held at 11:45 am followed by a Celebration of Life.
