Joyce Ann Nixon, 83, of Oakland, MD, died Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her daughter’s home.
Born October 6, 1941, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Chester Martin Miller, Sr., and Juanita (Sharon) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Richard Nixon, Jr.; two daughters, Debra Sue Bible, Virginia Lynn Nixon; four brothers, Roy Miller, Ray Miller, Donald Miller, Chet Miller; and three sisters, Wanda Lee Nave, Doris Berg and Virginia Bennett.
Mrs. Nixon was a homemaker and caretaker and attended Maple Glen Mennonite Church, Grantsville, MD.
She is survived by one son, Earl Richard Nixon, III, and wife, Nicole, Oldtown, MD; two daughters, Melissa Kay Ritchie, Sacramento, CA, LaVern Ann Nazelrod and husband, Mark, Oakland; two sisters, Romaine Sherman, Cumberland, Kay Miller, South Carolina; 19 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 1-2 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mervin Brenneman officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.
