Joyce Graves Olney, 87, died on January 5, 2026, in Inman, SC. Joyce was born in Louisville, KY, on June 12,1938. She was the oldest of six children born to Allen and Helen Graves. She married Carl Olney in 1958 and they settled in Rock Hill, SC. Joyce worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aide in Kentucky and South Carolina. She was active in her church, Calvary Baptist, Rock Hill. She also volunteered for many years playing hymns in nursing homes. Joyce was happiest in her role as a mother and she loved being together with her family and friends. She never met a stranger and was always positive and kind despite the challenges she faced in her life.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, her husband Carl, two sons, Eddie and Steven, two brothers, John (Koene) and Tom (Wendy) and her sister Jenny (John). She is survived by her sons Mark and Billy, her daughter Susan, her brother David (Margaret) and her sister, Cannan (James).
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Rock Hill, with the service to follow at 10:00 AM.
