It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Simpson a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Joyce departed this world peacefully on May 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and unwavering strength.

Family was the cornerstone of Joyce's life. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, always putting the needs of her family above her own. Her 9 grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved to host gatherings and cook for the whole family. Joyce's home in Mint Hill, NC, was a place of love and laughter, where everyone felt welcome and cherished.

Joyce's strength was evident in all she did. She faced life's challenges with courage and resilience, never losing her faith. Her strength was a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends, who admired her ability to remain steadfast in the face of adversity.

Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her kindness, her strength, and her unwavering love for her family.

Joyce was predeceased by her daughter Becky Yates, her parents JB and Gladys Barnes, and her siblings Cynthia, Jay, and Wayne Barnes.

She is survived by her husband Howard Simpson, her sisters Debbie Sluder and Sherry Cable, her daughter Jenny Hodges, her 9 grandchildren (Samantha, Ashley, Kimberly, Ryan, Caitlin, Connor, Charles, Madison, and Cameron) and 2 great grandkids.
