Born August 12, 1944 in Tallahassee, FL, Mrs. Helmstetter was the daughter of the late Harvey and Marjorie (Frederick) Sturtz.

Judy graduated from Fort Hill High School Class of 1962. She was a Gold Star Member of Melvin United Methodist Church where she was a choir member and was a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher for many years. She met her husband, Clement, at Moon Glo Skating Rink and always said he made her look good when they skated and dance skated together.

She loved to knit, crochet, bake, do puzzles, and she made many meals and baked goods to share with friends and family who could no longer do for themselves and shared many canned and processed foods also. She also helped take her aunts, parents and friends to doctor’s appointments, marketing and shopping. She loved fair time and was very happy with all her showcase and Blue ribbons she won for her baked goods, candy, and canning products.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Clement F. Helmstetter, Sr.; her daughters: Julia Kidwell (Eddie); and Anna Hinton (Chris); her son: Clement F. Helmstetter, Jr.; and a sister: Dona Feaster (Russel); as well as her grandchildren: Alexander Kidwell (Katie); and Dakota and Addison Hinton. She is also survived by her B.F.F. Rebecca Andrews (Tom); and her bonus daughters from other mothers: Debbie Evans and Joyce Street; as well as many nieces and nephews and lots of cousins.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
