Judith Mae Droddy
March 7, 1954 - November 30, 2024 (Age 70)
Judith Mae (Pepper) Droddy of Willlow Street, PA, died peacefully with her husband by her side on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Judith was born on March 7, 1954 in Wilmington, DE. She was preceded in death by her parents Philip E. Pepper and Beatrice M. (Lister) Pepper. Judith is survived by her sisters Carol Coviello (Thomas), Cynthia Hague (Phil), and twin sister Jane Effinger (Joseph) along with many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Judith married Dan Droddy on February 26, 1972. After pastoring two Wesleyan churches in Quebec and New Jersey, Judith and Dan settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to raise their family. Judith loved being a wife to Dan and mother to her five children Julie Droddy (Martin), Laura Clark (Jamie), Katie Rineer (Brandon), Daniel Droddy (Ashley), and Karen Young (Jason). Her greatest joy was her grandchildren Austin Clark (Lily), Aaron Clark, Aidan Clark, Mason Droddy, Hunter Droddy, Blaine Young, Hailey Young, and Tyler Young. Her two great-grandsons, Owen Clark and Noah Clark, added to her joy of family.
Judith loved her home. Like the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31, she went “afar” to fill her home with beautiful and unique things and lovingly created a home filled with warmth and love. Her home was a sanctuary for her family and an oasis for anyone who stopped by. It wasn’t about things, though, she is most remembered for her compassion and kindness to everyone. She loved her family boundlessly and still had more than enough love and joy to share with friends, neighbors, her children’s school friends, and even the clerks in her favorite stores. Judith didn’t know a stranger. If you met her for the first time she’d know your story in just a few minutes and remember it for years. And how she loved babies! She’d touch each one with a hand on each cheek and greet him or her with, “Hi, Angel!” Her grandchildren remember her most for that. During her last days, when Dan told her he loved her, she would reply, “I love you so much!” She loved and was loved by everyone she knew.
