Judy Elaine Moore, 77, of Matthews, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024, at Novant Health Matthews. She was born on November 26, 1946, in Union County, the cherished daughter of the late James and Bessie Hunter.
She was married for 50 years to her beloved husband, Tommy Moore Sr. She attended and graduated from Forest Hills High School.
Judy was of Baptist faith and was an active member of Golden Acres Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, attending to her chickens and rabbits, a great yard sale, and a cold Pepsi Cola.
The family would like her to be remembered as a mom who loved the Lord, her beloved husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in that order. Her smile was made of sunshine and her heart was solid gold. She believed in forgiving often, always being kind, always being honest, being happy, doing good, and giving it your best.
Judy is survived by her sons, Tommy Moore Jr. (Mechelle) of Charlotte, Jerry Moore (Renee) of Calabash; grandchildren, McKenzie Moore (Raven) of Midland, Brandon Moore (Chloe) of Concord, Bailey Moore of Ocean Isle, Dylan Baucom (Christina) of Matthews, Mikailia Baucom of Charlotte, Brittany Peacock (Josh) of Oakboro, Lindsey Clark of Charlotte, Buddy Clark of Concord, Brandy Clark of Oakboro, Hunter Simpson, Ashleigh Simpson, Kristen Hartsell, Trevor Simpson (Kaleigh); great–grandchildren, Gabe Moore of Midland, Abby Elaine Moore of Concord, Weston Clark of Charlotte, Paisley Clark of Charlotte, Ada Peacock of Oakboro, and Memphis Peacock of Oakboro; sister-in-laws, Phyllis Hunter, Terry Hildebrand (Craig); brother-in-laws, Junior (Guy) Moore (Cheryl), Ronnie Moore (Denise); nieces, Amy Hildebrand, Jennifer Lingerfelt, Robin Helms, Traci Moore; nephews, Jamie Hunter (Michelle), Jeff Hunter, Richard Moore, David Moore, Michael Hildebrand, Doug Hildebrand; and special family friends, Lou Anne Brown Simpson, and Floyd Simpson.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Tommy Moore Sr.; brothers, Wade Hunter, and Jerry Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Golden Acres Baptist Church.
