Judy L Wright

Judy L. Wright, 84, of Bedford died on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home. She was born on January 14, 1941in Bedford, a daughter of the late Walter K. and Hulda (Browning) McKinley. On May 31, 1960 in Cumberland, MD she married Kenneth A. Wright and he survives along with a daughter, Lesa W. Turner and husband Kevin A. of Manns Choice; one granddaughter, G. Nicole White and husband Justin of Berlin; three great-grandchildren: Alicia, Bryon, and Waylon; two brothers, B. Fred McKinley and wife Cynthia of Bedford and Gregg McKinley widower of Dorothy of Bedford. She was preceded in death by a son, Bryon K. Wright, three sisters, Barbara McKinley, Lillian L. Bornscheuer, and Charlotte M. Thomas; two brothers, Walter and Frank McKinley.

Judy graduated from Bedford High School in 1958. She worked as an assistant manager at Dairy Dell in Everett. She also worked as a cashier at ACME grocery stores until their closing. She retired from the Bedford Area School District where she held various positions within the district. She was a lifetime member of the Bedford Methodist Church and she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, started the children’s choir, was a youth group chaperone, vacation bible school leader, and served on various committees and boards throughout the church. She sang with the Joyful Notes, enjoyed painting, gardening, and taking care of her flowers.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Robert Marsh officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
