Karen Carlson

Karen "KC" Carlson, age 51, of Penn Borough, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on August 22, 2023. Born January 5, 1972, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. Carlson and Barbara A. (Zygmunt) Carlson. She was a graduate of Norwin High School. She earned her Bachelors degree in psychology from Seton Hill University and her Masters degree in child development from the University of Pittsburgh. KC was known for her sense of humor and her charismatic personality. She was a passionate advocate for children with autism and dedicated her life to bettering the lives of all children. She is survived by her brother, Walter "Randy" Carlson and sister-in-law, Tracy Carlson; her nieces, Lindsay Nee (Brendan), Brooke Susich (Justin), and Rylee Carlson; and her beloved great nieces and nephews, Cian, Baron, Evelyn, and Kendall. Friends will be received Sunday, August 27 from 2-6 PM and Monday, August 28 from 10 AM until the time of prayer and final respects at 11 AM at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721. A graveside service will follow in the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon, with Pastor Bob Morgan, officiating.
