Karen Lorene Brazil, 86, passed away January 3, 2026. Born November 15, 1939, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Karen worked in the textile industry at Celanese for over 30 years. She was a devoted Christian who looked for the good in everyone. Known for her radiant smile and love of conversation, she was always full of life. She was an excellent cook, famous for her pecan pies and holiday feasts. As a lover of animals, she spoiled her dogs over the years. Karen never left the house without her lipstick and always looked her best. She loved to travel and had quite the green thumb.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Brazil, and son, Richard Salay. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Salay (Ronda) and Steve Salay; daughter-in-law, Tammy Salay; 5 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, January 9, 2025 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church (2115 Celanese Rd, Rock Hill, SC). The viewing will begin at 1 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.
