Kathleen Murray
August 16, 1946 – November 1, 2026 (Age 80)
Kathleen Murray, age 80, of Irwin passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 1, 2026. It was All Saints Day which celebrates every Christian in Heaven. She was born on August 16,1946 in West Newton the daughter of late Wilbert and Evelyn Werner. Kathy was preceded in death by her brother Will Werner and her son Marty Tamasy Jr. Surviving and cherishing her memories are her husband Patrick Murray of 45 years; her daughter Alissa Tamasy Turkowski; her son-in-law Michael Turkowski and her grandson Jack Tamasy.
Kathy worked for many years in the pharmaceutical field and years later buying and selling antiques. Her passion was decorating and making all things old and new look beautiful. Kathy’s laugh was contagious. She could light up a room with her laughter and it was one of her most indelible qualities. Also, Kathy’s love of animals was undeniable all throughout her life. When her children were little, they could enjoy hamsters, gerbils, frogs, fish and a dog all at the same time. She wanted them to learn the value of all things big and small to love and care for.
Kathy and Pat purchased a condo in the mountains the year that Marty passed. They met their Realtor, Jamie, who suggested a close date of Marty’s birthday. Kathy started crying and Jamie said “we can change the date.” Unbeknownst to Jamie, it was Marty’s birthday. The rest is history, as Jamie became like a 2nd daughter to Kathy and Pat. They loved sharing their mountain home with family and friends visiting their favorite restaurants, shops and places around town. It’s where they could be most at peace.
Her family would like to extend thanks to the UPMC Somerset Hospital for the care and comfort they provided during and after Kathy’s passing. John M Dobrinick Funeral Home, Inc. 702 7th St. Trafford will be providing the private service and utmost care of Kathy on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. A special thank you to Sean Atkinson for officiating. Sean has been through many seasons with Kathy and her family and he is like a brother to Alissa.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital which were Kathy’s favorites.
