Kathy June Farquhar Mongelluzzo of Donora died peacefully at home on October 2, 2023.

Kathy was born in Charleroi on April 4, 1942 and raised in Allenport, PA by her parents Minetta L. (Burry) and Averill R. “Pickels” Farquhar.

She worked as a bookkeeper at Morris Paper Co. in Pittsburgh, and 25 years at Mon Valley Memorial Park as secretary/office manager. She provided support and help for grieving families with sincere and loving care.

Kathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a wonderful aunt and cousin, and a kind and caring friend to so many. She was dedicated to serving the community alongside her friends at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Donora thru her lovely sewing skills making Dignity Robes for women undergoing breast cancer treatment and preparing Lenten fish dinners for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister RuthAnn Gasparik of Lorain, OH.

Surviving to cherish her memory is husband of 58 years Richard M. Mongelluzzo; a son Michael R. Mongelluzzo of Pittsburgh; two daughters both of Fairfield, CT: Lisa M. Albenze (son-in law Brian J. Albenze), and Lori Ann Mongelluzzo; two granddaughters, Olivia P. Albenze, of New York City, and Rachel M. Albenze, of Washington D.C.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home, 40 Second Street Ext. Donora, PA 15033 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends Friday October 6, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturday October 7, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Saturday followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Donora at 11:30 AM.
