Kenneth E. Hardman, Jr.

May 24, 1950 - May 23, 2021 (Age 70)

Cumberland, MD – Kenneth "Kenny" E. Hardman, Jr., of Cumberland, MD, passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at the age of 70.

Born May 24, 1950, in Cumberland, MD, Kenny was the son of Kenneth E. Hardman, Sr., and the late Betty (Rankin) Hardman. He was also preceded in death by his stepson: Franklin C. White, Jr.

Kenny will be remembered as the life of the party and a hard worker. His strong work ethic was a life lesson learned from his father. He retired with 10 years of service at the Maryland State Correctional Facility. He was a former employee at Willison Oil Company, Kelly Springfield Tire Company, and CSX Railroad. Kenny also drove the Sunday School bus for Central Assembly of God, where he was a member. He was also a member of Christopher Photo Labs Bowling Team.

Kenny enjoyed spending time at the family farm. He loved farming and raising cows just like his father. Kenny could be found fixing fences, tending to the cows, making hay, and mowing his lawn. He also enjoyed vacations at the beach, spending time with family and feeding the deer in his backyard. Kenny loved riding in his “Big Green Tractor.” He was also very proud of his lawn which everyone would say reminded them of a golf course. A loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, we’re honored and proud to have had Kenny in our lives. Kenny will be tremendously missed – more than he will ever know. Besides his father,

Kenny is survived by his wife of 29 years: Linda Hardman; his brother: David Hardman and wife, Vicki; his sister: Bonnie Collins and husband, John; his daughters: Sherri Kelly and husband, George; Mindi Timberlake and fiancé, Jason; and his stepdaughter: Lynnette Brode and husband, John. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special cousins: Randy and Steve Hardman, who were more like his brothers.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A Celebration of Kenny’s Life will follow at 7:00 P.M., with Pastor Doug Seaman officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.

The family would like to thank the brave men who rescued Kenny and Linda from the accident and the Chaplains, doctors, nurses, and staff at UPMC Western Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Kenny may make contributions in his name to the Bedford Road Fire Department, 13200 Bedford Road NE, Cumberland MD, 21502.
