Kenneth E. Witmer Sr.
January 16, 1953 - October 3, 2025 (Age 72)
Kenneth E. “Ken” Witmer, 72, of Holtwood, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Amos G. Witmer and the late Mary E. (Henry) Warner.
Ken was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1972. He made a career working as a maintenance mechanic and was employed by Herr Pump, Anderson Pretzel, Frank Ix & Son, and, most recently, Keystone Weaving. A handyman, Ken could work on and fix most anything. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a Phillies and Eagles fan, and every day he would do the Jumble and word searches. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Ken was a member of Chanceford Presbyterian Church of Airville, York County.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Witmer, Jr., of Holtwood, and Donald (Melissa) Witmer, of York; grandsons, Austin and Aidan Witmer, of York; brother, James Witmer, of Lancaster; stepbrother, Richard (Cindi) Warner, Jr., of Arkansas; and a stepsister, Marianne (Jeff) Gerlach, of Lancaster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Witmer, Sr., and a stepfather, Richard R. Warner, Sr.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 9, at Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 West 4th Street, Quarryville, PA 17566, with Pastor Keith Berkheiser II officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 10 AM – 11 AM. Interment will take place at Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster.
