Kent L. Salmen

Age 55, of Kensington, went home to be with Jesus Friday, Feb. 4, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton. He was born June 6, 1966 in Salem to William and Mary Ellen (Gray) Salmen and raised by his mother and stepfather James Wilson. Kent loved his family and lived a life of hard work, integrity, boldness and humor. He was co-owner of a successful business, Status Control and Integration, with his childhood best friend Eugene Prendergast. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1984 and received an associate degree from Stark Technical College. He is an active member of Faith Family Church’s legacy group in Canton, a “concerned parent” for 16 years of the Boy Scouts of America where he supported his 3 sons as they earned their Eagle Scout, a Financial Peace University Coordinator where he helped people learn how to become good stewards of their money, and a member of the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly (Ebey) Salmen whom he married May 25, 1991, 3 sons, Matthew Salmen of Columbus, James Salmen of Columbus, Luke Salmen of Kensington, 5 siblings, Rick (Stacy) Salmen of Kensington, Whitney (C.J.) Manse of Homeworth, Megan (Jeff) Clapper of Columbus, Theresa (Loren) Mates of Alliance, and Billy Salmen of Canton.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Bill Luzecky officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville. Calling hours will be Wednesday 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
