Kristy Litteral

Kristy Lynn Litteral, age 71, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2026.

Born on February 22, 1955, Kristy was the daughter of the late Everett Van Dyke and Barbara Pinson. She was a fiercely independent woman whose greatest joy in life was her family and friends. Kristy lived life to the fullest and embraced every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and God's creation.

She found peace in gardening, caring for her many houseplants, watching hummingbirds, and spending time surrounded by nature. Kristy especially loved camping on her and David's property in Malta OH {Morgan County}, where she created many cherished memories. She was an animal lover, enjoyed watching and going to NASCAR races with her husband. She also looked forward to her monthly sister’s dinners with daughters and close friends, making memories that she treasured. Kristy attended Lifepoint Church in Delaware, where her faith remained an important part of her life.

In addition to her parents, Everett Van Dyke and Barbara Pinson, Kristy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Litteral; her stepfather, Ralph Pinson; and her stepbrothers, Jeff Pinson and Scott Pinson.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Theresa (Patrick) Hinterschied; her cherished grandchildren, Grace Collins and Jay Collins; her sisters, Cheryl (Kernie) Walters, Beth (Chet) Mobley, and Robin Van Dyke; her stepsisters, Jenny (Jim) White and Joyce Pinson; her sister-in-law, Karen (John) Cordle; her aunt, Linda Van Dyke; her uncle, Joe Stevens; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Kristy's life will begin at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.

Kristy will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, unwavering independence, deep love for those closest to her, and the kindness she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
