Larry Ferguson

Larry Ferguson, 82, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Larry was born March 13, 1942, to Harry E. and Meryl Jeanette (Struble) Ferguson, in Ridgeway, Ohio.
Larry was raised in Mount Victory, Ohio from the age of eleven, and graduated from Mount Victory High School in 1960. He then moved to Columbus where he earned an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology in 1967, as part of one of the first graduating classes of Columbus Technical Institute (now Columbus State Community College). He met and married his wife Carol in 1962, and they moved to the Westerville area, where they raised their two sons, Rod and Chris. In addition to various jobs, he served as a volunteer firefighter for Westerville from 1970-1973. In 1974, he started his own business, Heating & A/C Systems, which he owned and operated until the time of his passing. His passions were family, traveling with Carol, golf, and cheering on the Buckeyes and the Bengals. He and Carol danced with the Happy Trails dance group for twenty plus years.
Larry was a dearly loved and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a beloved brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. Ferguson and Meryl Jeanette (Struble) Ferguson Mentzer, stepfather Harold Mentzer, and son Chris Ferguson. He is survived by his wife Carol (Allen) Ferguson, son and daughter-in-law Rod and Laura Ferguson, grandchildren Cameron, Carly, and Heath Ferguson, brothers Rick (Wilma) Ferguson and Dale (Pat) Ferguson, and sister Charlotte (Joe) Peterman.
Larry especially will be remembered for his ornery smile, determined nature, and devotion to his family.
Larry’s family will always be thankful for the wonderful care he received from the doctors, nurses, and PSAs at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Danbury of Westerville, and Capital City Hospice.
Calling hours will be held Monday, July 22, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State St. in Westerville, with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. After the funeral will be a short graveside service at Northlawn Memory Gardens, 7060 St. Rte. 3 in Westerville.
