Larry W. Fling, Sr.
July 11, 1947 - November 14, 2021 (Age 74)
Larry Wayne Fling, 74, husband of Mary “Libby” Fling, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, November 14, 2021.
Born in Middlesboro, KY, he was the son of the late Dan and Irene Wilcox Fling.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. In his spare time, he loved to fish and proudly volunteered as a builder for Brotherhood Builders; a ministry that built and did work on less fortunate churches. Larry was a man of God, provider for his family and a devoted husband that gave with a loving heart. His pride and joy came from being a grandfather and sharing his love for each of them.
In addition to his loving wife, Mary, he is survived by daughter, Wendy Davis (Shawn); son, Larry Wayne Fling, Jr.; sister Geneva Galloway (Julian); grandchildren, Christopher Davis, David Davis (Tansy), Elizabeth Davis, Daniel Davis, Stephen Davis, Timothy Davis, Hannah Davis, Sarah Davis, Alessandra Fling, Lia Fling and Brandon Fling; aunts, Alice Ray, Helen Bare and Geneva Barr; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Beatrice Fling.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021, 3:00 p.m at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial will be held Friday, November 19, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Grandview Memorial Park, Rock Hill, SC.
