Lawrence L. Mauger Jr.
March 5, 1935 - September 19, 2025 (Age 90)
Darline (Donofrio) Mauger, beloved wife of Lawrence L. Mauger, Jr., passed away
peacefully September 12 at Manatawny Manor where she had resided with her
husband. Shortly after her death, her husband, Lawrence L. Mauger, Jr., passed away
quietly on September 19. Devoted to each other, Darline and Lawrence had been
married for more than 73 years. They are survived by their two children, Lawrence J.
Mauger, husband of Cynthia (Carroll) Mauger, and Darleen (Mauger) Farnsworth, along
with six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Born in 1931, Darline was the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Marks) Donofrio. The fifth
child of seven in a very closely knit family; her siblings, Joseph, Kay, Virginia, George,
Herbert and Shirley were a vital part of her life, and they remained close throughout
adulthood. Each of her siblings have predeceased her.
Lawrence, born in 1935, was the son of Lawrence L. Mauger, Sr., and Mary (Keiser)
Mauger. Lawrence was one of four siblings, Jacqueline, Deanna, Karen, and his half-
brother, Robert Pecharo, each of whom predeceased him.
Darline and Lawrence loved their family fiercely. Some of their favorite people were their
grandchildren: Angela Almond, Joshua Hayer, Jordan Mauger, James Farnsworth,
Caitlin Cole and Cody Farnsworth. They also delighted in the blessing of their great
grandchildren, all of whom enjoyed their grandparents’ love and support.
Darline was a thoughtful, loving and self-sacrificing wife, mother, sister, and
grandmother. Lawrence was a strong, loyal and supportive husband, father, brother and
grandfather. They both loved to go to Mass on Sundays and enjoyed being part of the
St. Aloysius Church community.
In addition to raising their children, Darline worked at her sister Kay’s dress shop,
Sunset Knitting Company, the New York Store and Boyertown Junior High East
cafeteria. Lawrence worked at Bethlehem Steel for most of his working life. After his
retirement, he served as a custodian at Boyertown Junior High East.
Darline loved to cook and craft. Her grandchildren lovingly remember the wonderful
meals she used to prepare for them. In her spare time, she crocheted and painted and
enjoyed many kinds of crafts. In turn, Lawrence was an avid golfer and hunter. He took
great pride in his home and took impeccable care of his property. Generous with his
time and resources, Lawrence valued family above all else and was always ready with a
helping hand.
Lawrence and Darline’s family will miss them terribly. Their lives were an inspiration
and a blessing. Together, they were a powerhouse of love: Mom-Mom’s gentle, loving
personality and quick wit and Pop-Pop’s strength, integrity and loyalty.
Funeral services will be held at the Warker Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High
