Leon B. Hudson
December 10, 1967 – September 3, 2026 (Age 58)
Leon Bernard Hudson, 58, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at his residence in Charlotte, NC.
Leon Bernard Hudson was the son of Lonnie Hudson and the late Yvonne Culp Hudson. He was born in York County on December 10, 1967, and departed this life on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Leon was a member of St. Mark A.M.E. Zion Church, where he accepted Christ at an early age, and sang on the Angelic Choir. He attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and graduated from South Mecklenburg High School. After graduating high school, he attended Diesel Mechanic School. Leon worked at various places. Wendys, Circuit City (lead stereo installer) and Wells Fargo (Loomis), to name a few.
In 1994, a home invasion led to Leon becoming paralyzed. Leon showed us all that you can overcome any setback. Being in the “chair”, as he would call it, never slowed him down. He could do all the things in the chair that he could prior to it. He went on to work as a courier, where he would make long drives alone to deliver packages. He would call some of you during those drives. Leon had quite a sense of humor. He could always make you laugh. Sooner or later in any conversation, he would end up giving you advice on any and everything. He would start by saying “Imma tell you what you need to do”, then you knew it was coming. He was quite the character and would have you cracking your side with laughter. The past couple of years Leon faced some health challenges that would land him in the hospital. Those trips became a production. Ask Nate, Robin, Kenny or any of his aunts about Leon’s Hospital adventures!! Leon was Leon. And that’s what made him unique. He’ll be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne Culp Hudson, and his son, Kendrick Hudson. Surviving to cherish his memories is his father, Lonnie Hudson, his son, Allante Hudson, granddaughter, Shryi Hankins; his brothers, Nathan Hudson (Robin), Kenny Hudson, sister and brother Bonnie Katie Black, Lonnie Spike Faulkner. Nephews, Justin Hudson and Andrew Hudson. Also to cherish his memories is his grandmother, Luvenia Culp Smith; his goddaughter Gabby Torres; Aunts, Uncles and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends.
