Leonard A. Sims, 81 of Bentleyville, PA passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the Residence at Hilltop, Monongahela, PA.
He was born May 7, 1943 in Charleroi, PA a son of the late Leonard and Josephine Skinkis Sims Sr.
Leonard was a 1961 graduate of Charleroi High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves and a proud member of the Bentleyville American Legion Post #165.
Mr. Sims worked as a truck driver both independently and for various trucking firms.
An animal lover, he also enjoyed boating on the river, and loved spending time with family and friends.
In 1966 he married Ruthanne Cole Sims who survives. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage.
Also surviving are two brothers, Van Sims (Bonita) of Strongsville, OH and Larry Sims of Irvine ,CA; three nephews, Chris, Nicholas and Alex Sims; a cousin Barbara Jean Sims.
Deceased are two sons, Charlie and Jonathan Daniel Sims.
Friends will be received Friday, January 31, 2025 from 2 to 4 PM, the time of service, in the Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA. Interment will be held privately in Mon Valley Memorial Park at a later date.
