Linda Brotemarkle

Cumberland, MD-Linda Louise Brotemarkle, 74, of Cumberland, MD, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at UPMC-Presbyterian.
Born August 11, 1951 in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Brotemarkle was the daughter of the late George Samuel Garey and Louise Mae (Sourbrine) Garey. She was also preceded in death by her son: Gary Brant.
Linda was a graduate of Bruce High School Class of 1969 and attended Allegany Community College. She worked many years at Dairy Mart and then worked as a bus aide for Allegany County Public Schools. Linda was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Corriganville, MD, until it closed. She was also a member of the Cumberland Moose Lodge #271 and the Cresaptown Eagles Aerie #2883. She was the chief baby sitter for her grandchildren and loved every minute of it. She was always the rock of her family.
Linda is survived by her husband of 33 years: Jeff Brotemarkle; her daughter: Melissa Bauman; her grandchildren: Ryan Bauman, Nicholas Bauman, Aiden Brant, and Ruben Cordova; her mother-in-law: Jean Brotemarkle; her brother-in-law: Wade Brotemarkle and wife Mel; and her feline companions: Benny and Bella; as well as her cousins, “the Corriganville Gang,” and several close friends.
Per her request, services will be private.
