Linda M. Parkinson

July 21, 1952 – May 27, 2026 (Age 73)

Linda M. Parkinson, age 73, of White Oak, passed away at home on May 27, 2026 after a long bout with cancer. Born July 21, 1952, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Edward A Maser and Nancy (Lowrie) Maser, and was happily married to David H. Parkinson for 52 years.

Linda earned her bachelor's degree in Medical Technology from the University of Pittsburgh, setting the stage for a remarkable 44-year career in healthcare administration, primarily at Magee Women's Hospital and later the Institute for Transfusion Medicine. She earned a Master's Degree in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University while working full time and raising three children, a reflection of her dedication to both her work and her family.

Linda was a proud member of the First Evangelical Free Church, where she found peace and comfort in her faith. In her free time, she kept her hands busy with knitting, crocheting, and embroidery, crafting beautiful pieces that she gifted to friends, family, and strangers alike. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed teaching her children how to prepare her recipes. Always an animal lover, Linda shared her home with many dogs and cats over the years, and kept the neighborhood squirrel and bird population well fed.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Leah (Joel Pitti) Parkinson, of St. Joseph, MI, Daniel Parkinson, of White Oak, and Philip Parkinson, of White Oak; brothers, Paul (the late Pam) Maser, of Clearwater, FL, and Mark (Deb Evans)Maser, of Holidaysburg, PA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and her beloved dog Allie.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the First Evangelical Free Church at 10 a.m. The entombment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
