Linda Powell Irwin, of Pigeon Forge, TN passed away in Charlotte, NC on October 3, 2021 having spent her last days in the loving embrace of her family.
Linda was born in Avery County, NC to her parents, William Arnold Carpenter and Anna Belle Riddle Carpenter on October 3, 1947 and departed this world for eternal peace, having earned her angel wings on her 74th birthday.
After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, making new friends, spending time with old friends and sowing seeds of happiness wherever she went.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Larry E. Irwin and by her sister, Barbara Carpenter Ghattas. She is survived by her son, James C. Powell (Jamey) and his wife Kristy. Also surviving are her sister, Judy Hamby (Melvin), her brother Bill Carpenter (Sharon), her step-children Shane Stork (Mike), Sissy Smith (Jimmy), Kelly Reaves (Steve), and Bryan Irwin (Leslie). She leaves a legacy of love for her nieces Cindy Landrian, Jennifer Landrian, Lea-Ann Kamionka, Skye Kamionka, her nephews, Antonio Landrian, Billy Carpenter and Dustin Carpenter. She is survived by her dear, longtime friend, Linda Hyatt Lominac (Johnny).
A memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at 1pm Saturday October 16th, 2021 in the chapel of Tribute & Tallent Funerals & Cremations, 1937 N. Sharon Amity Rd. Charlotte, NC. The family will greet friends from 12-1 prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.
