It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lloyd Cecil Gay. Beloved
husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather. Lloyd Cecil Gay, born March 20, 1945, in Bradshaw, West Virginia, to his late Mother Geraldine Aycox. Lloyd Gay passed away on February 19, 2025, at his residence due to natural causes.
Lloyd was a dedicated employee in the security at Nelson nursing home for over 20+ years. His colleagues remember him as a dependentable, reliable, and hard-working individual, a man of exceptional character who touched the lives of many with his loving heart, humorous spirit, and unwavering dedication.
On Oct 3, 1998, Lloyd married the love of life laura Gay. Lloyd's life was a testament to his loyalty and love for his family, friends, and community. A man of God, he lived by the biblical verse, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:8). He was a beacon of love and laughter, his jovial nature and quick wit enriching every interaction.
Lloyd spent most of his life in Columbus, Ohio, where he dedicated over 20 years of service to The Bryden Place, a local nursing home. His role as a security officer and the environmental service industry was much more than a job to him. He was a dedicated guardian, ensuring the safety and well-being of the nursing home's residents. His commitment to his role was appreciated by staff and residents alike, cementing his reputation as a reliable and caring individual. Lloyd's ingenuity shone through in his everyday life.
Outside of work, He was a hands-on man who enjoyed fixing things around the house, creating his own inventions. His love for bike riding and listening to his scanner were well-known, also adding charm to his distinctive personality.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Laura Gay, children Taqulia Gay, Darrell Wallace, Gerald (Tawanna) Robinson, Shawn (Tinika) Robinson, Carrie Robinson, a host of 15 grandchildren and 17 great children, and 1 great-great grandchild. cousin Nana Gay and 3 sister-in law, Racheal Bozeman, Brenda Smith, and Lilly Robinson. special late uncle Cecil Aycox
Lloyd's life was a radiant example of love and dedication to his family, who were his greatest pride and joy. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those he left behind.
Please join us for a visitation on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by funeral service at 11:00 am at Evergreen Funeral Cremation and Reception, located at 1855 East 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43219. Lloyd Cecil Gay will then be laid to rest at Northlawn Cementary 7060 State Route 3 Westerville ohio. repast/reception will follow at 1:30 pm back at 1855 East 17th Avenue Columbus Ohio 43219
