Lonnie D. Kohler

October 16, 1932 - December 11, 2021 (Age 89)

Lonnie D. Kohler, 89 of Greensburg, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, December 11, 2021 in the comfort of his Daughter and Son-In-Laws home in Greensburg.

He was born October 16, 1932 in Bethlehem, Pa the son of the late Henry G. and Jennie Griffith Kohler.

Lonnie was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School, Class of 1950. He was employed by Lards Printing Company of Bethlehem Twp., where he met his late wife, Helen J. Beckage Kohler who passed away March 28, 2017 and worked together for 28 years until retiring from Valley Printing in 1992 and 1996, respectively.

Lonnie was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War with CO. D. 3rd Engineering C BN. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal while attaining the rank of Corporal.

Lonnie is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him,

His Wife of 61 years, Helen J. Beckage Kohler (March 28, 2017)

Son: Lonnie Kohler, Jr. (March 29, 2006)

Granddaughter: Kristin Kohler (Feb. 25, 1991)

Brother: Henry Kohler, Jr. (Dec. 1990)

Lonnie’s family and friends are cordially invited, Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4PM – 6PM, in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Pa. 15683.

Additional Visitation will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 in the Funeral Home, from 10AM – 11AM at which time his Funeral Service will begin with his Pastor Dan Kaser, Officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post # 446 immediately following the Service at the Funeral Home.

Entombment will follow in Westmoreland Memorial Park Mausoleum, Greensburg.
