Louis A. Veronie, Sr.

Louis A. Veronie, 91, of Jeannette, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, in the William Penn Care Center, Penn Twp. He was born June 3, 1930, in Baggaley, Pa., a son of the late3 Antonio and Carolina Pagnanelli Virone. Prior to his retirement Lou was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, General Tire & Rubber Co., and Volkswagen of America. He was a veteran having served with the US Army during the Korean War. Lou enjoyed working outdoors and maintaining his home and vehicles. He was an avid hobbyist and enjoyed painting and ceramics.

In addition to his parents Lou was predeceased by his wife Mary Ann Sauter Veronie; brothers, Salvatore, John, Joseph and Domenico Virone, and Alphonse and Henry Veronie; and sisters, Helen Ferrera, Carmella, Rinaldi, Mary Pennesi, and Congetta Malik.

He is survived by his sons, Louis A. Veronie, Jr., and wife Darlene of Jeannette, and Michael A. Veronie and wife Lora, of North Huntingdon; grandsons Cody and Jesse Veronie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lou’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff at the William Penn Care Center for all of their kind and compassionate care.

Friends will be received 10 to 12pm Friday in the John V. Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 228 North 2nd St. Jeannette. A blessing service will take place at 12pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Deacon William Newhouse presiding. Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park, Hempfield Twp.
