Louis Dominick Falo, Sr., 95, a lifelong resident of Greensburg, PA, was born on December 14, 1930, and peacefully passed away on February 6, 2026.
Lou was the son of Gabriel and Grace (Fredo) Falo, who preceded him in death, along with eight siblings: Jenny, Gabriel, Dominick, Nancy, Donald, Victor, Dennis, and infant Louis. He is survived by his sister, Sandra Bozik (Michael Vetterly) of Greensburg, PA; his son, Dr. Louis D. Falo, Jr., and wife Hilary of Bradford Woods, PA; and his daughter, Suzanne Lingenfelter and husband, Dr. Kyle Lingenfelter, of Punxsutawney, PA. He was the proud grandfather of Nathan Lingenfelter, Mia Lingenfelter, L. Dominick Falo III, Gabriel Falo, and Isabella Falo, all of Pittsburgh.
Louis honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, from 1952 to 1954, achieving the rank of Sergeant Major and serving as a staff courier. He earned several distinctions, including the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Bronze Star in recognition of heroic or meritorious achievement in a combat zone.
Following his military service, Louis built a long and successful career with Chubb/Colonial Life Insurance Company, where he worked for more than 30 years in Latrobe, PA. He enthusiastically coached youth football for the Greensburg Fifth Ward Panthers and the Cathedral Bonecrushers, sharing his love of the game with generations of young athletes. A devoted fan of the University of Pittsburgh Panthers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Louis rarely missed a chance to cheer on his teams. He also enjoyed acting in the local production of The Passion Play.
He was also an avid golfer who enjoyed many rounds at the Cloverleaf course and others in the area. At home, he took great joy in growing grapes and making homemade wine, which he loved sharing with family and friends. Louis will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to his country, his passion for sports, and the warmth he brought to every gathering.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a funeral liturgy will immediately follow at 11 AM.
