Lucetta C. Scaglione
April 25, 1936 – February 27, 2026 (Age 89)
Lucetta C. Scaglione, 89, of Monongahela, died Friday, February 27, 2026 at Vida Springs Sr. Living and Personal Care Home in Monongahela. She was born April 25, 1936 in Donora, the daughter of Bernardino and Grace DiStefano DiGiralamo.
Lucetta was a graduate of Donora High School. She was a most devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Monongahela. It was there that she helped with the church paper, "The Gospel News", was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher, an ordained deaconess and also held various offices in the Ladies Uplift Circle, locally and nationally.
In the 1960s, Lucetta, her husband, Rich and their family resided in South Dakota where they dedicated their time to do missionary work on the Cheyenne River Reservation. They also traveled to Columbia where they committed more time to their missionary work. Lucetta loved spending time with her family and especially loved cooking for them. The traditional Sundays and gatherings for the holidays in the Scaglione home remained steadfast. Enjoying those special moments where her family could all be together was one of Lucetta's most treasured moments.
She is survived by her son, Richard L. (Jessie) Scaglione, Jr.; two daughters, LuAnn (Dexter) Carson and Kathy (Bob) Golling; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Kevin) Irwin, Richard L. (Mary) Scaglione, III, Michael Scaglione, Kristina (Tim) Stroyne, Micah (Laura) Carson, Stefanie (Dan) Arcuri, Brian (Jennifer) Smith, and Juliette (Brandon) Coppa; nineteen great grandchildren, Luie Scaglione, Ruby, Cora, Mack and Theo Irwin, Charity Scaglione and Richard L. Scaglione, IV, Carson, Camden and Vail Stroyne, Nico, Enzo and Vito Carson, Maverick and Santino Arcuri, Lennon and Aria Smith, Lucianna and Deluca Coppa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Scaglione who died February 22, 2017; great granddaughter, Wren Irwin; two sisters, Francis Sterner and Agatha Dainty; and four brothers, Sabatino, Anthony and Bernardino DiGiralamo and Peter DiGrino.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 6-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela. Additional visitations will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 10 -11 AM in The Church of Jesus Christ, Sixth and Lincoln Streets, Monongahela, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with the Elder Brandon Coppa officiating. Interment will follow in the Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ, 525 6th Street, Monongahela to be put towards the Native American Outreach Work.
