Lucille Campbell

Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Lucille Steele Campbell, 93, of Rock Hill, SC passed away on Sunday February 23, 2025.
Lucille was born in Gastonia, NC on March 28, 1931 to the late Lonnie G. Steele and Marjorie Ligon Steele. She attended Rock Hill High School where she was a Bearcat cheerleader and a member of the “Bearcat Beauty Court”. On June 29, 1950, Lucille married the late John Pierson Campbell “P.C.” with whom had two loving and devoted children.
Lucille was an expert gardener and a talented tennis player. On the court, she traveled the state playing and winning tournaments. Off the court, her passion was for her beautiful home garden. Lucille was also a member of the Baptist Plus One Bridge Club that not only played the game, but traveled the east coast learning crafts and needle point.
Lucille is survived by her son, Dana Campbell (Susan), her daughter Tena Mann, her grandchildren, Clay Campbell, Joseph Campbell, Kelly Campbell (Jantzen), Stewart Mann and Laura Tate (Michael), and her four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her husband P.C. Campbell and her siblings: Betty Hoffman and Daryl Steele.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Reverend Eddie Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
