Lyle E. Brunot, 93, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, September 12, 2023. He was born December 27, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant Twp., a son of the late Charles Deal and Mabel Marsteller Brunot. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the Army. Prior to retirement, he was an outside plant engineer for the former Bell Telephone and later Verizon. He was a member and Elder at the First Reformed United Church of Christ, Greensburg. Mr. Brunot was a member of the Greensburg-East Hempfield Lions Club and was Past District Governor for Lions District 14E. He belonged to the Evergreen Council of the Bell Telephone Pioneers and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Ethel M. Weatherhead Brunot; a sister, Lois Brunot; and a brother, James T. Brunot. He is survived by a daughter, Deborah B. Massafra, of Greensburg; two sons: Duane E. (Teresa) Brunot, of Maryland, and David A. (Dujuana) Brunot of North Carolina; five grandchildren: Jacqueline (Robert) Halinka, Catherine Massafra, Kristen (Benjamin) Hanks, Kimberly (Brian) Humphreys, and Brandon Brunot; and six great-grandchildren: Robbie, Adam, and Julian Halinka, Sophie and Dean Hanks, and Emma Humphreys. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
