Mack Crase, age 85, of Canal Winchester, died Monday June 30, 2008 at the Chillicothe V/A Medical Center. Born February 9, 1923 in Lester, KY to the late Millard & Nannie (Breeding) Crase, he joined the U.S. Army in 1939 at the age of 16, spending most of WWII stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He later worked in a variety of jobs throughout the Midwest ranging from working in coal mines to various manufacturing and construction jobs.
His many interests included photography, gardening, music, hunting and travel. He was a constant family man, faithful provider, and life-long dreamer. We will deeply love and miss him…until we see him again.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joella (Amburgey) Crase; sons, Roy (Marie) Crase, Gahanna, Greg Crase, Brownsburg, IN, Zach Crase, Canal Winchester; sisters, Mildred Hall, Virginia, Mary Lou Morton, Kentucky; brother, Roy Crase, North Carolina; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Little Angel Old Regular Baptist Church, 5733 Saltzgaber Rd., Groveport, with Minister Danny Carty officiating. Entombment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
