Margaret Ankney

November 24, 1927 - May 6, 2021 (Age 93)

Margaret “Peg” Ankney, born November 24, 1927, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 6, 2021. Predeceased by her husband, Merle Ankney, she is the mother of Jean Jesse (Gary) and Nancy Fligger, with whom she resided for the last 13 years; grandmother of Duane Jesse (Angie), Lisa Swartz (Stephanie), Christine Klemstine (Chris), Kim McMahan (Bob), Jason Jesse (Anne), and Craig Schwartz (Candis); great-grandmother to Paige, Taylor, Cole, Graham, Trevor, Erin, Ryan, Jude, Grace, Gabby, and Maddie; and sister of William Hodge. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family. Peg lived life with intention and energy. She was co-owner of Hillside Ceramics and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Greensburg. She loved to cook big meals for her extended family. She attended college in her 40’s, getting a PA teacher license and then taught special needs students until her mid 80’s. She loved to travel, collecting cow statues, and loved her dog Isabel. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM Tuesday in First Baptist Church, 1228 Armbrust Brinkerton Rd., Greensburg with the Rev. Scott A. Jones officiating.
