Margaret F. Johnson, 93 of Zanesville died at 5:50 AM Monday, April 4, 2022 at the Oaks at Northpointe.
She was born on Wednesday, November 28, 1928 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of Frederick W. Hampp and Marie Mueller Hampp.
Margaret was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former employee at Mosaic Tile & The Colony Square Mall. She was a volunteer for the Muskingum County Board of Elections and Carr Center Cake Auction and also was active with the Muskingum County Center for Seniors. Margaret was known for her sewing, beautiful cross-stitch and card-playing skills. She was also a dedicated Falls Township Fire Maid.
She is survived by her children, Janice (Bob) Fox, Rita (Larry) Boyce, John D. (Bev) Johnson, and Judy (Mike) Gonder; grandchildren, Terry (Amy) Fox, Kevin (Alex) Fox, Derek (Sheri) Boyce, Brian (Deanna Jones) Boyce, Brady (Melissa) Johnson, Cody Johnson, Jared (Shania Lewellen) Gonder, and Wes Gonder; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Katie, Zara and Linley, Katelyn Margaret and Ryan, Luke, Parker and Colvin, Ryder and Maci, and Baby G, due in May; and several great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Johnson; brothers, Emil, Otto, August, and William Hampp; and sister Hedwig (Hampp) Bullerman.
Friends may call 6 to 8 PM on Thursday April 7th at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 8th at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating and Chaplain Tim Patton assisting. Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Falls Township Volunteer Fire Department, Trinity Lutheran Church or Genesis Hospice. The Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Zanesville is in charge of the arrangements.
