Margaret Flory

Margaret Ann "Peggy" (Jackson) Flory, 84, of Shantytown, Penn Township, died Friday, November 11, 2022 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was born September 7, 1938 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (Hebrank) Jackson. Peggy had been involved in many community groups through the years. She was heavily involved in Penn-Trafford Aqua Club and football events when her sons were younger, and was a Cub Scout den mother, neighborhood block parent, a loving foster parent for many years, and was a daycare worker at the former Rainbow Connection many years ago. Most recently, Peggy enjoyed her memberships in Young at Heart, Red Hat Society, and was a 50-year member of Harrison City Area Woman's Club, where she had coordinated their annual craft show. She also served as judge of elections at Harrison Park and Grandview Fire Department polls, was a member of Community United Methodist Church, and was an avid Steelers fan. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Peggy is survived by two loving sons, Robert W. Flory of Kittanning and Ronald D. Flory of Penn Township; grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Pelligreno; two sisters, Carol Ellen (late George) Merz and Lynn (Doug) Hails; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Robert "Bob" M. Flory; siblings, Richard "Dick", Donald, Elizabeth, and Ronald Jackson; and daughter-in-law, Jackie Pelligreno. Friends will be received Tuesday, November 15 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City, 724-744-2721, where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 16 with Pastor Jerrad Peterman, officiating.
