Margaret J. Thomas

Margaret J. “Peggy” Thomas, 83, of Mount Morris formerly of Greensburg, died Monday, January 8, 2024, at home. She was born March 10, 1940, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late John and Adeline (Geiger) Rosenbauer. Prior to retirement she operated her Lilies of the Field flower shops in New Alexandria and West Point. She was a member of Word of Life Church, Greensburg and its church choir. She was a former singer with the Westmoreland County Choral Society and volunteer with Summer Sounds at St. Clair Park. Peggy loved the beach and enjoyed feeding and providing items to homeless people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. “Buster” Thomas. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Stampfle of Greensburg and Christine Pacak and husband Thomas of Mount Morris; two grandchildren, Luke and Alexus Stampfle; her sister, Susan Hyser and husband David of Harmony; three brothers, John Rosenbauer and wife Linda of Norvelt, James Rosenbauer and wife Joyce of Arnold and Dan Rosenbauer and wife Robin of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 AM to 12 Noon Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg, at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home with Pastor Curt A. Detar officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
