Margaret Joanne Summy

Margaret Joanne Summy, 91, of Findlay, passed away at the Blanchard Valley Hospital on Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania on May 5, 1934 the daughter of the late Burton C. and Margaret L. (Whetsel) Porter. On June 1, 1952 she married Rev. Melvin H. Summy who preceded her in death on July 13, 2014.

Survivors include her daughters, Joy L. Hassebrock, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and Ruth Ann (Craig) McDonald, of Tacoma, Washington. Two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother, Ronald (Lulu) Porter, of Connellsville, Pennsylvania. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and a brother, Gary Porter, and a sister, Minnie Mae McNalley.

Margaret was a minister's wife and a homemaker. She and her family served as missionaries to Bangladesh, East Pakistan for five years from 1960-1965. She was an income tax preparer for H&R Block for six years from 1984-1990 and was a member of the College First Church of God, Findlay.

There will be no services at this time. The family is planning for a private service in Pennsylvania at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the College First Church of God, Findlay for mission work.
