Margaret Lee Fralix
March 15, 1940 - October 13, 2024 (Age 84)
Margaret Lee Howell Fralix, 84, of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024. She now lives in Glory with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in Knoxville, TN, on March 15, 1940, Margaret was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Howell and the late Evelyn Cox Howell Scarbrough.
Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of Rock Hill. Margaret was a homemaker and served her community by volunteering in many roles such as a Girl Scout leader, Girls in Action leader, WMU leader, and an Operation Christmas Child participant making hundreds of dresses to go inside the OCC shoeboxes. Margaret was an avid quilter and was a member of the York County Quilters Guild and participated in the Quilts of Valor organization making and donating many quilts to veterans. In 2018, Margaret was recognized as a CN2 Hometown Hero for her outstanding community service.
Margaret is survived by her 5 daughters whom she loved dearly: Karen Simpson Allred (Dean, deceased) of York, SC, Sharon Faulkenberry (Bill) of Iron Station, NC, Kathy Thompkins (Charley) of Hemingway, SC, Sandra Miller of Rock Hill, SC, and Lisa Jones (David) of Chester, SC; brother, Roy Kenneth Howell (Lupe) of Surprise, AZ; sister, Pat McReynolds of Madisonville, TN, sisters-in-law, Eileen Fralix and Elaine Fralix, both of Dandridge, TN; 7 grandchildren: Megan Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Amanda Faulkenberry Cutter (Jay), Ashley Faulkenberry, Carmen Thompkins Benton (Alan), Savannah Jones, and Cody Jones; 3 great grandchildren: Morgan Simpson, Dillon Simpson, and Hannah Benton; and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Fralix, brothers, Ralph Howell and Jack Howell, granddaughter, Charlene Thompkins, and great-grandson, Hunter Benton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29730. The family will receive friends following the service.
